Picture
Sophie Sperling  & Francis Aguilar, Milano
Sophie, born in Germany in 1998, began her dance journey at the age of three with classical ballet, which she studied for thirteen years. She then expanded her artistry through contemporary dance and dance-theatre, following the Pina Bausch method. At seventeen, she chose to dedicate herself fully to Argentine Tango. A decisive moment in her career was meeting her mentor and teacher, Sebastián Arce, with whom she continues a close collaboration. Since 2022, she has been the official representative for Italy within EjesTango, an international union of tango schools.
Francis, born in 1995 in Moreno, Buenos Aires, also chose Tango as his life’s path at the age of seventeen. He trained extensively at some of the most renowned tango academies in Buenos Aires, including three formative years at the prestigious Instituto José Neglia, where he deepened his technique. His career has included success in various tango championships and performances with internationally recognized companies such as El Cruxe and Titanes del Tango.
Sophie and Francis met in December 2022 in Buenos Aires. Just ten days later, they decided to embark on a professional journey together in Milan, where they founded their own school and became permanent members of the EjesTango Union. Since then, they have participated in numerous national and international projects, joined the prestigious company TangoX2, and established themselves as resident teachers in several Italian cities.
Today, their focus is on expanding their school and community, developing innovative teaching methods, and advancing their careers as dancers and choreographers—continuing their artistic growth under the guidance of Sebastián Arce.
